Marks Electrical – Affiliate Programme Terms & Conditions

 

1. Eligibility & Approval

All affiliates must be approved by Marks Electrical or its appointed affiliate network prior to participation. Marks Electrical reserves the right to approve or reject any affiliate application at its sole discretion.

 

2. Allowed Affiliate Types

The following affiliate models are permitted to participate in the programme, subject to compliance with these Terms & Conditions:

  • CSS (Comparison Shopping Services)
  • Cashback websites
  • Closed User Groups (CUGs)
  • Content publishers (blogs, editorial, reviews)
  • Mobile apps and mobile-based promotions
  • Offline promotions (subject to prior written approval)
  • Price comparison websites
  • Retargeting partners
  • Social media publishers and influencers

 

3. Conditional Affiliate Types

The following affiliate models are only permitted with prior written approval from Marks Electrical:

  • Subnetworks
  • Discount and voucher code websites
  • Display advertising
  • Email marketing
  • Onsite optimisation tools
  • Paid search (PPC)

Affiliates operating within these categories without explicit approval may have commissions declined or accounts suspended.

 

4. Excluded Affiliate Types

The following affiliate types are strictly prohibited from participating in the programme:

  • Browser extensions, toolbars, plug-ins or similar software applications

Any affiliate found operating using prohibited technology will be removed from the programme and all outstanding commissions may be voided.

 

5. Paid Search & Brand Bidding

Where paid search is approved:

  • Affiliates must not bid on “Marks Electrical”, “Marks Electrical PLC”, or any misspellings or variations thereof unless explicitly authorised in writing.
  • Direct linking from paid search ads to the Marks Electrical website is not permitted unless approved.
  • Affiliates must not misrepresent themselves as Marks Electrical in ad copy, display URLs, or landing pages.

 

6. Voucher Codes & Offers

  • Affiliates may only promote voucher codes and offers that are supplied directly via the affiliate network or approved by Marks Electrical.
  • Posting unapproved, expired, or misleading voucher codes is strictly prohibited.
  • Marks Electrical reserves the right to decline commission on transactions driven by unauthorised or misleading promotions.

 

7. Social Media & Influencers

  • All social media promotions must clearly identify the affiliate relationship and comply with ASA and CMA guidelines (e.g. #ad, #affiliate).
  • Affiliates must not create or use social media accounts that impersonate Marks Electrical or imply an official partnership beyond affiliate participation.
  • Paid social activity must be approved in advance.

 

8. Commission, Tracking & Validation

  • Tracking is based on a 30-day cookie period.
  • Transactions are validated within 90 days to allow for returns, cancellations, or fraud checks.
  • Transactions are validated against other channels, Marks Electrical reserves the right to reject commissions as de-duplications.
  • Cashback and voucher code combinations are strictly prohibited unless stated otherwise in writing by Marks Electrical.
  • Marks Electrical reserves the right to reverse or decline commissions for returned, cancelled, fraudulent, or non-compliant orders.

 

9. Brand Guidelines & Compliance

Affiliates must:

  • Represent the Marks Electrical brand accurately and professionally
  • Avoid misleading claims, false urgency, or inaccurate pricing
  • Comply with all applicable UK laws, advertising standards, and data protection regulations, including GDPR

 

10. Programme Changes & Termination

Marks Electrical reserves the right to:

  • Amend these Terms & Conditions at any time
  • Change commission structures, validation periods, or programme policies
  • Suspend or terminate any affiliate found in breach of these Terms

Continued participation in the programme constitutes acceptance of any updated terms.

PPC is only allowed when agreed with Marks Electrical in return for exposure. anyone caught running PPC or ad hijacking will be removed without warning.
