About DFDS Seaways
DFDS Seaways provides a unique maritime experience for all guests onboard with an international level of service. Founded in 1866, DFDS has provided passenger ferry services for more than 145 years, with a fleet considered to be one of the largest in northern Europe.
The DFDS Seaways affiliate programme is for UK websites wishing to promote sea routes from Newcastle to Amsterdam, Dover-Dunkirk/Calais, Copenhagen to Oslo, Kiel to Klaipeda, Sassnitz to Klaipeda and Karlshamn to Klaipeda.

DFDS Seaways work with some great partners to form combined trips with Legoland, Center Parcs Europe, Novasol Cottages and more.

DFDS Seaways international sites have their own individual affiliate programmes and you should join these if you wish to promote wider routes.

Become a DFDS Seaways Affiliate
DFDS Seaways offer a year-round product for a whole range of customers. We provide affiliates with incentives throughout the year, as well as opportunity to work closely with good performing affiliates to see their earning increase in relation to their promotional efforts. Previous activity has included Double Commission, Trip to the Affiliate Summit in Boston and race day events.

The Company should always be referred to as ‘DFDS Seaways.’

All affiliates on the DFDS Seaways programme will be contacted via email a minimum of once per month, detailing the latest creatives, products and offers, plus general affiliate news.

DFDS Seaways provide a range of regularly updated banners available in a minimum of four sizes promoting a range of products. These are available as GIF files and some campaigns include Flash files. Text links and deeplinking are also permitted.

Programme T&Cs
As part of DFDS Seaways affiliate programme, you are bound to the following agreement in which “we”, “us” and “our” refer to DFDS Seaways and “you”, “your” and “yours” refers to the affiliate.
  1. We reserve the right to cancel any new or existing affiliate partnerships if we determine your site is unsuitable for our program, including if it:
    1. Promotes illegal activities
    2. Promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, age or disability
    3. Promotes violence
    4. Promotes sexually explicit materials
    5. Incorporates materials which infringe copyright, trademark or intellectual property rights
    6. Includes “DFDS Seaways” or variations or misspellings in its domain name
    7. Contains software that enables diversion of commission from other affiliates
    8. Resembles the DFDS Seaways website in a way that may mislead customers
  2. Affiliates must use banner creatives and tracking codes provided by DFDS Seaways in order for us to accurately track customer data and commissions.
    1. DFDS Seaways reserves the right to review creative placement at any time and approve the use of links. DFDS Seaways may require existing placements to be changed or removed.
    2. It is your responsibility to ensure you have express permission to use any copyrighted material (whether it be writing, imagery, video or sound). We are not responsible if you use copyrighted material or other intellectual property in violation or the law or any third party rights.
  3. We have the right to monitor your site at any time to determine if you are following the terms and conditions of this agreement. We may notify you of any changes to you site which we recommend and supply appropriate links to our website.
    1. DFDS Seaways reserves the right to terminate this agreement and your participation in the DFDS Seaways affiliate programme without notice should fraudulent or abusive behaviour be detected. If such fraud or abuse is detected, DFDS Seaways shall not be liable for any commission on fraudulent sales.
    2. This agreement will begin upon our acceptance of your affiliate application and will continue unless terminated. DFDS Seaways may end this agreement at any time with or without cause by giving the other party written notice in the form of mail or email.
  4. DFDS Seaways may modify any of the terms and conditions in this agreement at any time at our sole discretion. In such event, you will be notified by email. Modifications may include, but are not limited to, changes in the payment procedures and commission levels. Your continued participation in the DFDS Seaways affiliate programme following the posting of the change notice will indicate your agreement to the changes.
  5. DFDS Seaways use the affiliate network Tradedoubler to handle all tracking and payment. Please review the network terms and conditions for agreements relating to payments.
  6. DFDS Seaways will not be liable to you with respect to any subject matter of this agreement under any contact, negligence, tort, strict liability or other legal or equitable theory for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages.
  7. All confidential information, including, but not limited to, any business, technical, financial and customer information, disclosed during the effective term if this agreement will remain the sole property of the disclosing party and each party will keep in confidence and not use or disclose such proprietary information of the other party without express written permission.
  8. You agree you are an independent contractor and nothing in this agreement will create any partnership, joint venture, agency, franchise or employment relationship between you and DFDS Seaways.
  9. You may not amend or waive any provision of this agreement unless in writing and signed by both parties. The agreement represents the entire agreement between you and DFDS Seaways and shall supersede all prior agreements and communications, oral or written.
  10. If any provision of this agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be eliminated or limited to the minimum extent necessary such that the intent of the parties is effectuated and the remainder of this agreement shall have full force and effect.
  11. By Promoting DFDS Seaways Affiliates, you accept our terms and conditions, including but not limited to, the keyword bidding policy. Tradedoubler and DFDS Seaways Affiliates reserve the right to remove sales and commissions from any affiliate found in breach of this policy.

  • Sub affiliate networks: not allowed 
  • Other (content, comparison, blog, social, etc..): allowed​
 
Keyword Policy
Registered affiliates are also welcome to buy non-brand search terms but must keep to the following programme guidelines.
  1. DFDS Seaways reserves the right to remove sales and commissions from any affiliate found in breach of the keyword bidding policy as set out below:
    1. DFDS Seaways affiliates MAY include trademarks in the sub folders of display URLs in PPC advertising (e.g. www.affiliatename.com/dfdsseaways)
    2. DFDS Seaways affiliates MAY show PPC adverts featuring generic terms (e.g. Amsterdam Ferry)
    3. DFDS Seaways affiliates MAY NOT include trademarks in the sub domain of display URLs in PPC advertising (e.g. www.dfdsseaways.affiliatename.com)
    4. DFDS Seaways affiliates MAY NOT operate domains which contain trademarks for the purpose of driving traffic from search engines (e.g. www.dfdsseawaysdeals.com)
    5. DFDS Seaways affiliates MAY NOT use trademarks in PPC ad copy titles or text
    6. DFDS affiliates MAY NOT show adverts using misspellings of trademarks, adverts coupling trademarks with generic terms or adverts using any DFDS URL or variation. DFDS affiliates MAY NOT also run any programmatic display campaigns external to their own platform using any DFDS branding or imagery. n.
  2. DFDS Seaways affiliates MAY NOT show PPC adverts for broad or exact searches or trademarked and excluded terms and must add these as negative keywords. They include, but are not limited to:
    • DFDS, DFDS Seaways, DFDS Lisco Line, DFDS Tor Line, DFDS Container Line, DFDS Suardiaz Line, DFDS Lys Line, SpeedCargo, Hallens, Seaways, Lisco Line, Tor Line, Container Line, Suardiaz Line, Lys Line or any obvious misspellings of these words (e.g. DDFS)
    • It is also prohibited to bid on broad or exact keyword searches relating to third parties with whom DFDS Seaways work. These terms include, but are not limited to:
      • Legoland, Center Parcs, Center Parcs Europe, Ibis, Croisi, Novasol, Danish Inns, Sun Parks, Marriott, Renaissance or any obvious misspellings of these words
